At Burry Port Community Primary School, our Science and Technology learning is guided by the principles of the Curriculum for Wales and the Science and Technology Area of Learning and Experience. We inspire curiosity, creativity and critical thinking by encouraging our pupils to explore the world around them and ask meaningful questions.
Through engaging, hands-on experiences, pupils develop their understanding across the four key disciplines of the AoLE: science, technology, engineering and computer science. They learn to investigate, design, build, test and refine their ideas, developing resilience and problem-solving skills along the way.
Our approach supports pupils to become ambitious, capable learners who are ready to adapt in a rapidly changing world. We nurture ethical, informed citizens by helping children understand the impact of science and technology on society, Wales and the wider world. Above all, we aim to foster a lifelong sense of wonder and enthusiasm for discovery.
